Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the Ridy mobile application ("App") operated by Ridy ("we," "our," or "us").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Ridy is a ride-hailing platform that connects riders with independent drivers in Hargeisa and Somaliland. We facilitate transportation requests but do not provide transportation services directly. Drivers are independent contractors, not employees of Ridy.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
4. Account Registration
- You must register using a valid phone number.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account.
- You must provide accurate and complete information (name, phone number).
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- One account per person; duplicate accounts may be terminated.
5. Use of the Service
5.1 Booking Rides
- You may request rides by selecting a pickup location, destination, and vehicle type (Economy, Comfort, Premium, XL).
- Ride fares are calculated based on base fare, distance, time, and applicable surge pricing.
- Estimated fares are provided before booking; final fares may vary based on actual route and conditions.
- You may cancel a ride, subject to cancellation fees as displayed in the App.
5.2 Payments
- Payment methods include cash and other methods as available in the App.
- You agree to pay the fare displayed upon ride completion.
- Cancellation fees may apply as described in the App.
- Promotional coupons and rewards points may be applied according to their terms.
5.3 Rewards Program
- You may earn rewards points based on ride spending.
- Points may be redeemed for ride discounts according to the redemption rates shown in the App.
- We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the rewards program at any time.
5.4 Ratings
- After each ride, you may rate your driver and provide feedback.
- Ratings help maintain service quality and driver accountability.
6. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
- Provide false or misleading information.
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or its servers.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse drivers or other users.
- Use the App to facilitate fraudulent rides.
- Share your account credentials with others.
7. Location Services
- The App requires access to your device's location to function properly.
- Location data is used to determine your pickup point, find nearby drivers, calculate routes, and track rides in progress.
- You may disable location services through your device settings, but this will prevent core App functionality.
8. Safety
- The App provides an emergency contacts feature for ride safety.
- Drivers are required to have verified documents before accepting rides.
- We are not responsible for the actions of independent drivers.
- In case of emergency during a ride, contact local emergency services directly.
9. Intellectual Property
- The App, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Ridy.
- The "Ridy" name and logo are our trademarks.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.
10. Disclaimers
- The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.
- We do not guarantee the availability of drivers, estimated arrival times, or uninterrupted service.
- We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of transportation provided by drivers.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of estimated fares, routes, or arrival times.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ridy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, personal injury, or property damage.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ridy from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
- We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms.
- You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
- Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
- Accumulated rewards points are forfeited upon account termination.
14. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via push notification.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Somaliland.
16. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Hargeisa, Somaliland.
