Ridy ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Ridy Driver mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our driver application.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Phone number: Used for authentication via OTP verification
- Name and email: Your profile information
- Profile photo: Displayed to riders during rides
Driver Documents
- Driver's license photo
- Vehicle registration documents
- Vehicle insurance documents
- Vehicle information (make, model, year, color, plate number)
Location Data
- Real-time location: Collected while you are online or on an active ride
- Background location: When you are online and available for rides, we collect location even when the app is in the background to match you with nearby ride requests
- Ride route data: GPS coordinates during active rides for navigation and trip history
Device & Technical Data
- Device identifiers and FCM push notification tokens
- App crash logs and diagnostic data
- Network connectivity status
Financial Information
- Earnings and payout history
- Mobile money account details (Zaad/eDahab) for payouts
- Transaction records
Safety Data
- Emergency contacts you designate
- Safety incident reports
- Driver ratings and feedback
2. How We Use Your Information
- Ride matching: Connect you with nearby riders requesting trips
- Navigation: Provide turn-by-turn directions during rides
- Payments: Process your earnings and payouts

- Verification: Verify your identity and driver documents

3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Ridy Driver:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, cloud storage, push notifications, and cloud functions
- Mapbox: Maps and turn-by-turn navigation
- Google Maps/Places: Location search and geocoding
These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of your data.
4. Data Retention
While Your Account Is Active
We retain your data as long as your driver account remains active.
After Account Deletion
When you delete your account, we:
- Permanently delete your driver profile, documents, and uploaded files
- Delete your location history and notification records
- Delete your Firebase authentication account
- Anonymize your name, phone, and photo on past ride records (riders retain their trip history with "Deleted Driver" shown)
- Retain anonymized financial/payout records as required for accounting and legal compliance
5. Your Rights
- Access: View your profile and ride history in the app
- Correction: Update your profile information at any time
- Deletion: Delete your account via Profile → Delete Account in the app
- Portability: Contact us to request a copy of your data
6. How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your account directly in the Ridy Driver app:
- Open the app and go to your Profile
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account
- Confirm your identity with OTP verification
- Confirm deletion
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure cloud infrastructure (Firebase/Google Cloud)
- Access controls and authentication
- Regular security reviews
8. Children's Privacy
Ridy Driver is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above.
